continuing excellence in dance training

the training ground sf (ttgsf) is a re-envisioned approach to excellence in dance training. In this iteration, former LINES Ballet Training Program Director Karah Abiog builds upon the ttgsf’s predecessor by harnessing exceptional faculty and forward-thinking training. ttgsf's thoughtfully cultivated curriculum combines a classical approach with contemporary methods and is designed to guide and empower the next generation of evolved dance artists.

the program

A LINES Ballet Training Program student crouches on the ground, peering upwards as one hand cradles their chin, the other wrapped atop their head.

the training ground sf (ttgsf) offers an intensive, full-time program for serious dancers preparing for careers in the arts. Through technique classes, creative exploration, and guidance from working artists, ttgsf bridges the gap between advanced training and the professional world.

The program combines a classical foundation with contemporary views and methods. Our faculty brings years of knowledge, expertise, and dedication in disciplines encompassing ballet, contemporary, GYROTONIC®, modern, repertoire, improvisation, composition, choreography, and critical perspectives in dance. Throughout the year, ttgsf engages guest artists from diverse backgrounds, giving students access to relevant working professionals in the current dance scene.
